7月20日 つるつる麻ひもに
ぼさぼさの麻ひも部分も2，3ヶ月使うとぼそぼそ部分が抜け落ちてつるつるになります。
そうなるととっても使いやすいんです。 やっぱり手作りのものは時間がたつにつれて変化
があり、愛着があります。
22日よりアメリカに出発です。 次回はアメリカよりお便りいたします。
July 20th Used Smooth Hemp
After using a hemp bag for a few months, the hemp part becomes very smooth. Then it is
very easy to use. I love handmade things, because after time passes, you can enjoy
seeing the changes. I love it as if it is a pet.
On 22nd, I will leave for the U.S. I will write from the U.S. next time.
7月15日 渡米
夫がワシントン州に引っ越してから私は来週初めて我が家に帰る。 夫はこの家をリトルハウスと呼んでいる。とっても小
さいらしい。 どんな町で、どんなところなんだろうと思っている。 布屋や毛糸屋はもうチェック済み。 私は旅行するとその
先々で絶対に布屋や毛糸屋に立ち寄る。 そういったところに行くことによってその土地の文化に私らしく触れれるのであ
る。 ワシントン州から夫はもう引っ越すことはないのでそこがきっともう一つの故郷の土地になるであろう。 第二の故郷
の生地や毛糸はどんなだろう。
July 15th To Washington State
Since my husband, Jeff, moved to Washington State, this will be my first time to visit there next week. He calls our
house, "little house". It seems to be small. I wonder what the town is like and how the atmosphere is. We have already
checked for fabric and yarn shops. Whenever I travel, I always visit fabric or yarn shops. I can feel the culture by
visiting these places. As Jeff won't move anymore from Washington state, this place will be another hometown for us.
What are the fabrics and yarns like in my second hometown?
7月12日 A lot of.......
おもしろい。 一人の生徒が単語にa lot of ....をつけて単数形から複数形にする時こんな風に書いた子がいた。
a pen a lot of pens
an orange an lot of oranges ( a lot of oranges の代わりに）
母音から始まる数えられる名詞の単数形にはa の代わりにanを使うので a lot of を使う時もそうだと考えたのだ。 これ
はすごいと思った。 間違っているけどそこまで考えたことに私は大いに褒めた。 楽しい発見だった。
July 12th A lot of.......
Interesting. In the English language, you must put a or an for the singular noun. Today one of the classes learned about
plural forms. One of my students wrote like this.
a pen a lot of pens
an orange an lot of oranges (instead of oranges)
He thought he should use "an lot of" because the word, orange, starts from a vowel. I thought his thought was great.
Even though it was wrong, I praised him for this great thought. That was great learning..
7月8日 Self-Evaluation Form
私の教室では夏休みと冬休みに入ると生徒さんがどれだけ頑張ったか成績表の代わり に
言葉で表し手紙を送っていた。 今回小学生と中学生に導入したのはよくアメリカ の教育
制度の中で使われていた自己採点表である。 項目ごとに自分で今学期どれだ け頑張っ
たかを判断し、次の学期の目標を立てる。 本人は自分がどれだけ頑張った か自覚でき、
本人だけではなく私も生徒さん一人一人の頑張りが私の目を通してだけ でなく生徒さん自
信の目を通して分かる。 私は一人一人コメントを書くので保護者 の方々は生徒さん自身
と私からの見解の両方が分かるのでとても効果的である。
July 8th Self-Evaluation Form
In my school, I always sent letters to the students and their guardians instead of
evaluations. The letters say how much the students did. However, this summer, I will
introduce a "Self-Evaluation Form". It allows each student to recognize how much effort
she/he put into this semester, and what she/he should do for the next semester. The
guardians can know both how their children made efforts and what I think about them. It
is very effective for the students, the guardians and the teacher.
7月7日 今日、そして明日
私のブログを読んでいただいた多くの方々からメールをいただき本当にありが
とうございました。 皆様のメールは本当に温かく、うれしく思っております。
スノーフレイクへの悲しみが他の人に対する思いやりに変われるように今日、
明日と笑顔で歩いていこうと思っています。 写真のお花はスノーフレイクが
かかっていた獣医さんから頂いたお花です。 真っ白なお花はこれからも私に
スノーフレイクを思い出させてくれるし、今日も明日も永遠に美しいでしょう。
July 7th Today and Tomorrow
I recieved e-mails from many people who read my blog. Thank you very much
for your kindness. Your e-mails were very heart-warming, and I felt glad. I
will have my chin up and walk toward today and tomorrow considering my
sadness changing to being thoughtful to others. The flowers in the picture
were from the vet who took care of Snowflake. White flowers will always
remind me of Snowflake, and they will be always beautiful today, tomorrow,.....
for good.
バッグ
毎日、夜遅くまでたのしいバッグ作りに励んでいます。今作っているのはビーズを編みこん
でいくものです。手間がかかりますがキラキラしていて綺麗です。今回ビーズ入りはこの1点
のみです。（今回は7月10日(日)、朝10時よりバッグのオーダーを受け付けます。 9日には
写真をＵＰ予定でおりますが、ご注文は10日、10時以降にお願い致します。）
The bags
I have been making bags every night. Here in the picture is a beaded bag. I crocheted
with beads. It takes a long time to make, but it is very pretty with tiny shining beads.. This
time there is only one beaded bag. (The bag pictures will be updated on Saturday, but we
will take orders from Sunday.)
7月2日 またね
この子ほど美しい鳥を私は見たことがなかった。 ルビーのような真紅の目に、桜色 のくち
ばし、そして全身純白だったこの子が本当の天使になった。 私の膝の上で息 を引き取る
まで私のそばに居たがった。 その晩、そんなこの子がいとおしくて、亡 骸をそばに一緒に
寝た。 次の日お庭の木の下に埋めても、尚、掘り起こしたい衝動 に何度も駆られた。
私があの子に最後に言ったのは“又、逢えるからね”だっ た。 絶対に再び逢える、とそう
固く信じている。
July 2nd See you
I have never seen such a beautiful bird like her. She had pure red colored eyes like ruby,
light powder pink colored beak, and her body was pure white.. Now she became an angel
truely. She wanted to be with me until the last minutes. She passed away on my lap. I
adore her. I held her body and slept together for the last night. The next day, I buried her
under the tree in our yard. I felt the urge to dig her up many times. I adored her. I still do.
My last words to her were "We will see each other again". I do believe our souls will meet
again.
